Originally from Montreal, keyboardist Brian Dring spent his formative years absorbing that city's unique jazz and world-music flavor. He made his debut performance on the stage of the now-defunct Rising Sun Bar (Soleil Levant) owned by André ‘Doudou’ Boicel who later started what would become the Montreal Jazz Festival. Moving to Connecticut, Brian has been playing R&B and jazz dates for over 20 years, currently with "Take Four."
"The Jazz Life" contains 15 jazz compositions with ambient, smooth jazz, Latin, and acid jazz influences. All songs written and performed by the artist except "Viaje Inaugural," a salsa arrangement of the Herbie Hancock tune "Maiden Voyage."
Featured on the title track "The Jazz Life" is vocalist Ron Donovan.
Brian’s musical inspiration comes from such pianists as Herbie Hancock and Joe Sample as well as a myriad of Latin and world music artists.
