With an electronic style somewhere between Hans Zimmer, Jean Michel Jarre and today's electronica and film music artist's ,Brian Vassallo brings his own melody and specially designed sounds into his own diverse compositions. Perhaps his fans descibe it best when they said that his music is "hauntingly beautiful ." Brian's music introduces us to a variety of musical ideas and well crafted sounds which the listener becomes anxious to explore. He grew up a typical 1980's teenager strongly under the influences of such electronic music pioneers as Hans Zimmer, Jean Michel Jarre, Art Of Noise, Sven Vaeth, as well as to cinema and science fiction stories. Brian pursued synthesizer instrumental music and building his own studio from his own finances when he watched the music laser and fireworks on stage by the French artist Jean Michel Jarre. Brian says. "Jarre's houston concert , music and visuals was unlike anything I had ever seen before, and it left an impact in me , and my growing fascination I was having with synthesizers, grew more and more! I found myself playing around with a few melodies at the keyboard or whatever i could grab and I just never stopped." In 1998 Brian released his first album, BEYOND. "At the time I recorded BEYOND I was listening to a lot of electronica and film composer artists. I was really going for that very atmospheric, emotional, dramatic sound and style, all the music, moments and life itself , where the sources of all the inspiration i was having".
Brian self-released and promoted BEYOND via the local shops and on the internet. Building on the support of his fans , the airplay and the clever interesting reviews he was receiving both locally and internationally, Brian went back into his music. His efforts eventually resulted into his next project, FLASHBACK, produced mainly in 2001 , later released in 2006 with two more new compositions. While BEYOND was quite an ethereal , yet in a haunting , electronica and sometimes pulsating fashion, the second album had a more of a variety when it comes to the chill-out ,electronica dance beat. It's strong melodies presented a producer and a musician that he can re-invent himself once again, and not limiting himself to one style, yet keeping his own unique sound and creative synthesizer signature.
In the time between Beyond and Flashback, Brian's music marketing strategy continued to evolve, continuing the emphasis on Internet promotion, finding new channels to convey his immagination to the masses , with his compositions and graphic designs. "The Internet and the computer where always my partners in my bedroom studio ."
2007 was a very busy creative year for Brian Vassallo, now entering into the collaborative phase , Vassallo now had the opportunity he was waiting from Jarre himself via Wat.TV site and Warner France,Aero Production ,when he remixed Jean Michel Jarre's track 'Teo & Tea '. The track was personally selected by Jarre himself with Brian being awarded with a copy of Jarre's album!
In that same year, Brian releases From Tears To Paradise , which was inspired by his love to Jesus Christ and Heaven. Paradise was more epic and cinematic than any of Brian's previous works. This composition was accompanied by the beautiful soprano artist's vocals performed by 'Amethyste ' .
In 2008, Brian was invited by artist ' Ehron VonAllen' to remix 'Enigma ', another version that has quickly become a fan favorite, featuring Brian's very unique interpretations and poetic soundscapes reminesent of the X-Files composer Mark Snow. Brian's most recent releases are Caravan Of Emotions & Deep-Groove EP, Released in 2009. Although electronic music can be found in most any music store, Brian Vassallo stands out. He creates unique sounds and melodies, capable of touching the hearts and emotions . "I just try to continue improving upon myself and my compositions and to touch many people " he says. "I'll let God take care of the rest."
