Bruce Williams

Biography

Bruce Williams is a songwriter living north of Chicago, Illinois. He is originally from northern California and moved to Illinois with his family in 1967. Raised in a musical family, it didn’t take him long to find the blues bars in Chicago, where he received his musical education. Bruce shared the stage with many of Chicago’s blues legends, including Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Johnson, Buddy Scott and Koko Taylor, and played as a sideman in the bands of Junior Wells, Lefty Dizz, Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins and Mark Hannon. He also played with former Rotary Connection member Bobby Simms on Rush Street and other northside clubs. Bobby and an associate of his named Don Drumm, introduced Bruce to the world of recording and he was hooked. Don and Bobby helped Bruce record his first demo. Since the mid-seventies, Bruce has maintained his own recording studio to capture demos of his original compositions. He now fronts his band, The Bruce Williams Band, and plays his songs to enthusiastic audiences throughout the area.
