BTHEFIRST
The power trio of BTHEFIRST was formed in the summer of 2011. Band leader, frontman, Mr.B was born to this world - with the name: Barnabas Pély - in the heart of Eastern Europe, Budapest. Growing up as a kid in one of the biggest housing estates in a dusty suburb of this vivid metropolis, he soon decided to break out. With having the eternal message of understanding and love, he picked up everything he could at the Music University of Hungary and in life to get better in expressing himself through his talent. Finally it all got together in a very unique and powerful style with releasing his new radio hit „Shake it” and the debut album of BTHEFIRST in 2012. Backed up with a great rhythm section Mr.B smashed the style of rock, funk and blues to atoms and set the components on fire in a brand new musical shape which he declares: „independent funk rock”. Watching his show on stage is quite a punch in the face, but in a positive way!
Loud guitars, distortions, effects, vocoder, drive, rock, funk and a slight touch of blues! That’s what you can get at a BTHEFIRST concert. Mr.B leads his 2 member rhythm section like a good old pilot drives his fast military jet. In these times when less and less frontman surfaces the worlds musical scene, like Prince, Lenny Kravitz or James Brown, he is still following this classic performing directon. The energy of Mr.B blows away the confirmed ordinariness of todays music scene just like a bracing breeze. He’s bringing new hope for those who are still longing for the aims and energies of the golden eras in today’s modern music, too.
Mr.B
For more than a decade now Mr.B is considered to be an emblematic and clolourful musician of the hungarian pop-rock music scene. As a singer-songwriter he is open and energetic. He mixes up the characteristics of several styles on the stage and in his original songs, too. Besides building his solo career as a singer-guitarist he thrives as the frontman of the well-known hungarian pop-funk band called United.
He wrote several hungarian radio hits such as „Végső vallomás”, „Hófehér Jaguár”, „Keserű méz”, etc.
In the year 2000 he was awarded for the „best album of the year”, and also got 1st prize for the „best ballad” from the hungarian label of Warner Music.
From 2003-2006 he was a jury and musical advisor of The Hungarian Idol called MEGASZTÁR on Tv2.
As a music producer he produced two albums for the winner of the first Hungarian Idol called Tóth Vera, and for many others.
He released his first solo album in 2005 with the title: Kaleidoscope.
Now he is heading to a new musical direction and planning to go international, too.
His varied ways of singing, his way of making music and his unique style already made a major effect on the audience and the new generations of musicians in Hungary.
