Biography

Haeyoung Kim (a.k.a)Bubblyfish explores the territory of sounds in electronic and digital media. With the reminiscence of old video game sound, Bubblyfish has been experimenting with hard vs. soft emotions, and fun vs. seriousness in chiptune and electronic experimental music.

Haeyoung has collaborated with many respected sound and visual artists such as Malcolm McLaren, Hans Jochim Rodelius, and the Brussels based media art group, Lab [au]. Her work has been presented in art venues, clubs, festivals, and galleries internationally including Blip Festival, The American Museum of the Moving Image, Pompidou Center, Kunsthalle Wien, MUTEK, File Festival, LABoral, and Lincoln Center Walter Reed Theater. Asides other compilation albums, Bubblyfish released her solo work, Peripheral v1.2.2 (Retinascan Records), Too Cute to Kill (self released), and Monologue (online single).
