Cache Monet, pronounced “Cash Monayyy” is a lil’ bit gangsta and a whole lot of fabulous. Cache Monet is a cabaret-style piano-led pop that weaves in synths and orchestral melodies with power-beats that serve as a platter for sarcastic, self-referential poetry that doesn’t suck. They write about religion, feminism, skanks, and dirty politics.
Formed by friends with similar interests, Redd Skyy and Prince Apollo are both active in the writing and producing of each record. Each are avid pianists and vocalists, and the transition to recording artists and producers was so natural and organic you can find it at Whole Foods.
Cache Monet debuted its first single, Adam’s Apple, in January of 2013. Adam’s Apple is a parody of Skyfall by British singer/songwriter Adele. Instead of seeing Eve as the harbinger of destruction, the song explores Eve as the savior of mankind, giving humans the knowledge of good and evil. Stark piano riffs give way to swelling strings and deep syncopation. Suspend whatever pre-conceived ideas you have about Eve, and let her tell you her side of the story.
