Cafecito

Cafecito (a small shot of coffee in Cuba!) is a charanga band from England lead by pianist/composer/arranger Janet Sherbourne

Janet studied music at York University, Queen's University Belfast, and the Guildhall School of Music in the UK. She has been involved in many styles of music, as composer and performer - of classical, contemporary, pop, dance, gamelan, jazz & latin. She has been PRS Composer-in-Education and Spitalfields Festival Composer-in-Education. For many years she was co-director of the contemporary gamelan group Metalworks. She started to become involved with Cuban and other Latin popular music styles in the 1990's. Her latin style compositions are currently heard in TV adverts in the UK.

Cafecito features some of the best known names on the latin scene in the UK, including Dave Pattman & Jorge Santo
