I am thrilled to be a professional musician and entertainer. It's a wacky world and we need all the music and laughter we can get.
I do shows that feature vintage, popular and original music with humorous stories and audience participation. I entertain for senior citizens, at special events, play house and ukulele concerts and am proud to be endorsed by The Ko’olau Ukulele Company in Hawaii. Yes, the ukulele rocks!
I’ve been playing the piano since I was a kid and always wanted to be a performer but took a brief detour, earning a degree in psychology, working in an emergency room and briefly attending nursing school. But I soon found my way back to performing and honed my skills as a musician and entertainer in piano bars, so I try to bring that sense of warmth and intimacy to all my shows, my songwriting and recording. My performances are a communal event because we’re all in this together.
I’m very proud of my two CD’s, which are available right here, in the kingdom of CD Baby! Brand new, hot off the presses: “Are You Having Any Fun,” which of course is a good question nowadays. This CD is “forty minutes” of feel good.
Here’s what Jim Beloff of world-famous Flea Market Music says: "On the 15 songs here Cali showcases her solid uke chops (both strumming and picking) and her warm and friendly vocals. A clutch of standards share the CD with some well-crafted and hummable originals. This CD is a gem."
Also, please check out my comedy CD, “Cali Rose Gets Goofy” which features my almost-hit song, “It’s a P.M.S. Kind of Day,” which is played on off-beat music programs around the world.
Says Independent Songwriter Web Magazine: "Cali is a witty, charming songwriter with a great sense of humor. Her keen sense of the obvious is truly a gift, seriously. There are no "fluff" words here. She calls them as she sees them and make no mistake, although the content makes us laugh, Cali Rose is an exceptional artist with a serious love for music."
Thank you for taking the time to read more about my work and for supporting independent artists everywhere.
