Caliban / Anthony Booster Bools Biography (not to be confused with the German Death Metal Band)

Anthony Bools, the principal songwriter of the Irish band Caliban was surrounded by musical luminaries from an early age. A stalwart of the Dublin music scene, he is best known for his roll as lead singer of that band... band ‘Caliban’ formed in 1989. Caliban established their reputation for electrifying live performances at major festivals across Europe, including Lorient’s famous Inter-celtic Festival, pushing the limits of genres and winning over legions of dedicated fans. An accomplished songwriter and recording artist, Anthony has recorded in multiple languages including English, Irish (Gaeilge), French, Spanish and Italian. Well known for his studio work, he has recorded with the best in the industry including Paul Doyle (Arcady, Providence) and the legendry John Earl (Thin Lizzy), in addition to vocals and guitar he has garnished a solid reputation as a percussionist, playing Bodhrán with the traditional Irish music band ‘Lad Lane’
As a solo artist he has continued to press the boundaries of his own tradition while exploring the riches that other musical heritages have to offer. In this regard he has spent the last few years traversing the musical terrain of Eastern Europe and the depths of it’s influences.
