CANDACE KEACH lives in Atlanta, Georgia and has been principal flutist of the Macon Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years. Candace transferred her experiences as a classically trained musician from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston into the realm of intuitive performance for which she has received wide acclaim from her enthusiastic audiences.
As a musician intrigued with the cultural, historical, and multi-disciplinary aspects of music it has been a natural transition for her to develop concert programming and presentations that weave these perspectives into a seamless tapestry. Candace has been awarded placement on the Georgia Council for the Arts Touring Artist Roster and also the South Arts registry for her work as a performing artist and as the director of Spiral of Sound workshops and concerts inspiring audiences with the art and science of sound, music and meditation.
Her collaboration with Gordon Porth on this CD, “Traveling Waves” and on their first CD, “As Above So Below” is a joyful blessing in her life. She is forever grateful to Gordon for his unwavering friendship and his encouragement to “let go”. Candace is also a published artist/illustrator, reiki teacher and aromatherapist.
GORDON PORTH is a native of Vancouver, British Columbia living in Rochester, New York. This journey has expanded his horizons on an international scope with itineraries throughout Australia, New Zealand, Islands of the South Pacific, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska ,the Panama Canal, Baltic, and Mediterranean.
When not at sea, Gordon maintains a busy schedule as an accompanist for the Rochester City Ballet school, the Rochester Vocal Arts Cooperative and the Eastman Community School. He also enjoys accompanying Jessie Barth and her burgeoning Oscar Hammerstein project including several sing-along concerts and a CD “At Home with Oscar” recorded at the Hammerstein home on Highland Farms in Pennsylvania.
