Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky is a leading cantor in the New York scene. He currently serves as cantor of the prestigious Park East Synagogue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Cantor Benny has lectured widely on cantorial music and its application to prayer. He earned his Master's degree in the United Kingdom and has taught and guided many of today's well-known cantors. In addition to his outstanding cantorial ability, he has produced some of the greatest cantorial concerts in the United States, most notably amongst them a sold-out performance at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, in addition to performances at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, and Carnegie Hall. He is involved at the leadership level in many charitable organizations with a unique flare for organization and implementation of community projects.
Born in Liverpool, England, Cantor Benny has served as cantor in Manchester, London, South Africa, Israel, and New York. Last year, he released a recording of the music of the High Holidays as a tool for cantors and laymen alike to study and gain greater appreciation of Jewish liturgy. Prior to his current position, he served as cantor of the Jewish Center on the Upper West Side for 13 years.
