Cardamar is Marco Sijbesma from the Netherlands. He was born in 1985 and addicted to music from that very first day. At the age of 5 he started playing organ at his grandmother's house. Less than a year later he got his first keyboard and started taking music lessons. He quickly became interested in recording the music he played on computer. His teacher learned him to master the powers of Cubase and at the age of 12 was Marco's first song born.
In the year 2003, Marco joined forces with Digitally Imported - of which he was an addicted listener - by setting up a Chillout channel on their site. He started to play his own songs on the channel and received a wave of positive comments. At the end of 2004, Marco decided to release his first album Steam. This album was released in May 2005, which was also the birth of his record label Cardamar Music.
After two years and six releases by other artists on the same Cardamar Music label, he released his second album Where The Skies End.
The other side of Cardamar (as DJ) was born in 2000. He became interested in DJ’ing trance music, and made numerous mixes in this style. From 2003, Marco focused completely on doing Chillout mixes. Another Day In The Clouds was the first Chillout mix which could be heard on Digitally Imported’s Chillout channel. It received some great feedback, and soon, more of his mixes appeared on the Chillout playlist. This also resulted in some collaboration mixes with artists like Morlack, Kick Bong and Xerxes.
Marco is currently producing his third album, while also programming the Chillout, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Lounge and Ambient channels on Digitally Imported.
