Biography

Cashmere Jungle Lords has been entertaining audiences since 1984. Their first professional engagement was opening for Joe "King" Carasco and The Crowns at Rockitz night club in Richmond, Virginia. They have released 2 vinyl records, 3 CDs and two CD-Rs on their Little Abner label. Dozens of tours of the eastern half of the United States are under their belt, most notably the Amoeba TearDrop Tour, Bratwurst Chitlin' OverDrive Tour, Open Mouth Insert Foot Tour, Noble Savage Tour and the trans-continental El Nino tour. The Jungle Lords have opened for such notable acts as The Who, Bruce Hornsby, Buckwheat Zydeco, Wall of Voodoo, The Fleshtones, They Might Be Giants and Southern Culture on the Skids. The music is a retro blend of surf, rock, blues, country, rock and roll and latin styles. Very danceable. The group began as a power trio, but now performs mostly as a quartet with the addition of original bassist John Moore as percussion stylist. The Jungle Lords music is featured on numerous Oxygen and MTV shows, including Bad Girls Club, Road Rules and Real World. Current line-up includes John "Wayne" Dacey on bass and backing vocals, John "Rainbo Brite" Moore on percussion stylings, Fred Gil-Montero on drums and Dominic "Bunnyholmes" Carpin on guitar and voice. The band was a prominent force in the Golden Age of The Outer Banks music scene, performing to packed houses at the legendary Mex-Econo bar/restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, NC. They have performed at FloydFest in Floyd, VA, NEMO Fest in Boston, MA, NXNE in Toronto, Ontario, CMJ Music Fest in NYC and the Route 1 South Music Festival in Richmond, VA. They have a diverse repertoire of over 150 original hits, as well as unique covers of songs such as Frankie Laine's Jezebel, Apache, Ode to Joy and Buddy Holly's Rave On...
