Cassandra Quittere

K_Ssie

Cassandra Lordie QUITTERE (DESIR) is a Haitian-American singer who was born from a Christian family with two brothers and one sister. Her greatest influence was her father. He was musically inclined, sang tenor and also played the guitar. Coming from such a background, it's no surprise Cassandra took interest in music. With support from her father, she began singing with the choir at their home church. Growing up, her fondest memories are of her and her sister singing along with their father as he practiced on his guitar at home. K_Ssie's musical background ranges from Gospel to classical styles. Her passion for music grew stronger in time. She became tied to the art and gave herself as much exposure as possible. She sang at church groups, friendly gatherings, at parties and at school whenever the opportunity arose.

The first song Cassandra recorded was "Mwen Renmen w" ("I love you"). She became part of a famous band called "MARASA" in which she invested a great deal of time. Cassandra had several gigs. She has been offered to sing on many broadcasted shows, including through the Haitian state-owned "TELEVISION NATIONALE D'HAITI (TNH)". She was also recruited by radio stations for her soothing voice to perform vocal segments for "going to and coming out of" commercial breaks.

Cassandra is married. Her son, Ricky CASTELIN, sings bass and is a very skilled guitar player. Her husband also has a musical background (musical analyst).

Nowadays, Cassandra QUITTERE "KSsie" works with lots of musicians of diverse cultures and backgrounds, trusting that the combination of styles will give way to a revolutionary new sound. Cassandra is currently working on the final phase of her new solo album coming out very soon. Of all the artist Cassandra enjoys listening to, here are a few of her favorites: Gal COSTA, Diana ROSS, Gracinha LEPORACE, Laura FYGI, Rachelle FERRELL, Esperanza SPALDING. Renée NEUFVILLE.
