Catherine Sophia Rodriguez originated from Quebec, Canada being born on May 22, 1994 better known as Cathey Rod. She is an artist as well as bilingual songwriter, actress, dancer, and model with Hispanic origins; she is the niece of well-known Venezuelan artist Jose Luis Rodriguez (El Puma). Cathey left to Caracas, Venezuela where she lived part of her infancy where she then moved to the United States ending up living in Orlando, Florida. Shorter later she began her training in which she received instructions in modeling and acting. She made her first few steps in the entertainment world, participating in theater productions, T.V programs and commercials on television demonstrating through her singing and dancing an exceptional artistic way of being. In auditions she was chosen to be in different dance companies by showcasing talent in recitals. Cathey made her first debuts on stage locally through different events and places at the age of seven. Her preparation was more and more intense each day because it required her abilities in gymnastics, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom and belly dancing. Her formation in singing and acting where in the hands of known professors such as Mark Goff, Gerry Williams, and Flavio Caballero as well as others. She won contests where her participation allowed her to audition to be a part of the Radio Disney Dancers where she was able to dance for events that included the presence of known artists such as, Raven, Disney Jam, Jam-X, etc. With only seven years old, Catherine was able to participate in the Disney Jam television show in which brought her to even more experiences with productions for Disney, including Walt Disney World commercials; printed publicity where she continues to be the image of Walt Disney World theme parks; television show for Nickelodeon, Discovery Health Channel, and the T.V show All in One for Fox. At eleven years old she began to write songs and launched out her CD, “Mix it Up”. Cathey has been presented in different television interviews such as Despierta America with Univision, “Al Rojo Vivo” with Telemundo and “Esta Noche Tonight” with Mega T.V.
Catherine obtained her High School Diploma with a major in dance for an art school, “Osceola County School for the Arts.” Her musical influences include Michael Jackson, Selena, Shakira, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Recently, Catherine is promoting her new single in a Spanish version, “Siente el Ritmo” and English “Turn My Music Up” and perfecting her artistic abilities by complementing not only dance and singing, but incorporating her bilingual acting abilities, forming herself into an integral artist.
