Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings

Charles “Big Daddy” Stallings

“Nobody writes lyrics and songs that generate more fun than “Big Daddy” Stallings!! “
- Blues Blast Magazine

Since 2004, “Big Daddy” Stallings has been delivering his “...Good time Bluez with a twist...” to audiences from The Mid-Atlantic to Melbourne, Australia, via radio and his live performances.
His new CD, “I Like It When They Call Me Big Daddy,” continues his mission to preserve and expand the Blues by combining Soul-Blues, R&B, and Traditional Blues music with stories that take listeners on a “Bluesical Journey” from Tobacco Road to the fast lane of Urban/Boogie Boulevard. Staying true to his tradition, “Big Daddy” calls on local and regional artists as musical guests to support his vision on his recordings, dating back to the debut release of “One Night Lover” in 2004.
Born in Columbia, S.C, but raised on a farm with ten siblings in Hobbsville, N.C., “...he lived the Blues everyday...,” turning to music for his escape. “Big Boss Man” by Jimmy Reed was the first song he learned to play before migrating to Baltimore, MD., after military service, with aspirations of becoming a recording artist. His first independent release, “One Night Lover,” peaked at #1 on XM Radio (Bluesville), and on The Midnite Special Blues Radio Show in Paris, France. The single, “4x4 Woman,” also received an Honorable Mention Distinction in The 16th Annual Billboard World Song Contest from over 1500 entries. “Big Daddy’s” 2nd and 3rd CD’s “Blues Evolution” (2007) and “Blues Party” (2009), received global attention with strong reviews in Living Blues, Blues Review, Blues & Soul (U.K.), IL Blues (Italy), and Soul Bag Magazines (France), while also reaching The Top 20 on The Living Blues and Roots Music Radio Charts, as a result of airplay from XM, European, Latin American and Australian Radio.
“Big Daddy” has shared the stage with the late Michael Burks, Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, and Whop Frazier, as well as Bernard Allison, Magic Slim, The Holmes Brothers, and Mark Hummel, using his down-home delivery, witty originals, and The Bluez Evolution Band, to create “...The ultimate Blues Party experience...,” in concert.
His music is enjoyed globally and “Big Daddy” has represented both The Baltimore and D.C Blues Societies at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.
