Biography

L.A. and Omaha residents, Cher & Gene Klosner, a sister-brother, singer/songwriter duo, have been performing their harmony driven acoustic piano/guitar/vocals sound across the country for many years. Having grown up on Motown, Elton John, Gershwin, Ella Fitzgerald, Fleetwood Mac and Broadway musicals, their music flows seamlessly from Indie Pop to the Blues, with the common thread being their rich vocal arrangements that have been described as "audible chocolate." They created their own label and have independently sold over 25,000 CD's and several thousand downloads to date.

Performance highlights include World Youth Day with the Pope and the President, US Olympic Swim Trials, Bank of the West Celebrates America 2010 (opening for Kansas, Styx and Foreigner), The Grand Ole Opry, CNBC's "The Big Idea," 2007-2010 College World Series, and many 9/11 tribute events in New York and L.A.

Cher & Gene Klosner have performed at colleges, festivals, and have been heard on commercials, and various TV and animation projects produced by Cher's husband, Emmy-award-winning "The Simpsons" Animator/Asst. Director, Ben Lane.* Their song "Please Don't Send Me Fruitcake," from "Ribbons and Pine" was featured on the nationally syndicated Dr. Demento show, recorded by The von Trapp Children, and has been performed by many symphonies across the U.S.

Stardust, their fourth CD, features a veritable Who's Who list of musicians, and is a winner of ten prestigious national parent awards, including Disney's iParenting Media and Parents' Choice. Stardust has recently been added to the very selective Pandora Internet Radio.

Cher & Gene Klosner are presently recording their fifth and sixth albums, including a singer/songwriter collection and a second Christmas collection, featuring "I Am a Carpenter." They have released several additional single tunes digitally and have recently expanded their songwriting to include film, television and advertising.
