Biography

Songwriter and playwright E. Christine Anderson (Chris) won a Grammy in the Streets contest sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and BMI for her song “Their Leader” from "WAiT - it's a musical!” (Baltimore, 2003.) As a graduate student, she studied theology at Wesley Theological Seminary, in Washington, D.C., and has completed graduate level play and script writing classes at American University. She recently earned a graduate certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship program at George Mason University, and performs regularly with the all-female groups "Ladies Done Waiting" and "Hot Flash" and hangs out with the guys at the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation. She plays electric guitar, harmonica and mandola.

She's been a consultant to start-up church bands of various denominations, a player/singer in several secular bands and enjoys speaking at workshops. Chris is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and is affiliated with BMI and Sound Exchange.
