Chris Matheos

Bassist Chris Matheos is a native of Rochester NY. As a bandleader he has released many CD's of improvisational, instrumental, jazz/fusion based music. Magnetic Flux (with Craig S. Snyder-2006 Network Pacific Records), Another Fall Canvas (2007 NPR), Full Moon/High Tide (with Mike Ernst 2008 NPR), SOLO BASS & DUETS (2009 NPR), Universal Fusion (2010), Magnetic Charge (2012), FDA Clinically Approved (with Rob Anderson 2012), Shadows Of Piccolo Bass (2012) . He also appears on many sampler CD's as a solo artist with Network pacific Records & Principal Records. He has written 20+ instructional bass method books/cds that have been published internationally by Mel Bay Publications. He is best known for his innovative Percussive Slap Bass Techniques. As a freelance bassist Matheos has worked with many popular acts including: NYC blues legend-Bobby Radcliff, 1960's chart toppers-Spanky & Our Gang, Michael Falzarano (of Hot Tuna), soul legend Nappy Brown, zydeco band-Mel Melton & The Wicked MoJos, The Coasters, Denny Dias & Bernard Purdy (of Steely Dan), to name a few. Matheos appears on CD's with: Bobby Radcliff (Freaking me Out, Natural Ball), Michael Falzarano, Spanky & Our Gang (Live Americana), Karen DuMont, Rick Wahlers, Clint Warner, to name a few. Matheos endorses: Roscoe Basses, David Eden Bass Amps, Pigtronix Effects, and Dunlop Strings. He is currently based out of California where he still works as a solo artist/clinician and freelance bassist.
