“showstopping… such great songs… refreshingly original, unguardedly personal compositions… glorious voice…” Ken Eisner (The Georgia Straight)
“…warm tenor voice…charming contemporary folk…beautiful melodies and lyrical charm…” Joe Ross (Roots Music Report)
Chris Ronald’s vocal and songwriting talent have brought him to perform across Europe and Canada. The soulful folksinger’s natural ability to combine guitar with melody and meaningful lyrics emerged at the age of 15. Since then, Chris has amassed a collection of expertly crafted contemporary folk songs that have gained him a passionately loyal audience. The Celtic roots of his upbringing combine seamlessly with hints of Ron Sexsmith, David Gray, and James Taylor.
Ronald’s acclaimed album, Turning Tides, was self-produced in his basement studio and released in 2011 after pursuing another passion: his family. Turning Tides has received five-star reviews from music press such as The Georgia Straight and Roots Music Report, and has been aired nationally and internationally on CBC and BBC Radio. Chris plans to build on this momentum in 2013 as he teams up with multi-instrumentalist and award-winning producer, John Ellis, to record his next album.
