Christina Bollendorff is a gifted singer-songwriter; her voice has a warmth and sweetness which captures the listener, together with her ability to pen catchy tunes that are personal and relatable. Her flowing, soothing voice delivers inspirational songs which forever resonate in the heart. Her music has been said to lift the spirit with a beautiful presence.
Growing up, Christina was constantly surrounded by music. Her parents played together in a bush music band, Dad on tin whistle and lagerphone and Mum on violin. Sundays were also a musical affair. Both parents played in the church band and Christina later followed suit. As a piano student of eight years, she won numerous awards at eisteddfods, including a 1st prize for her original composition. In 2006, at 16 years of age she received a grant from the Sunshine Coast Regional Arts Development Fund to record and produce an EP of original songs. The CD was received with enthusiasm by friends and family, before spreading to wider circles and receiving radio play.
In 2009 Christina decided to audition for the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in an effort to develop her musical skills on a professional level. Her successful audition gave her entry into the world of classical technique and opera performance. At the end of last year she graduated with Distinction in her voice major and now she has begun performing originals and covers around Brisbane and has recorded her new demo CD "Gonna Be Alright."
