Chuck Curry is a trumpet player and singer, originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, who began playing trumpet at the age of five.
Chuck has performed in three Broadway national tours: The Wedding Singer (2009-2010), All Shook Up (2011), and Fiddler on the Roof (2012-2013). Curry’s recording credits include the CDs, Walking on the Coals by Limbs Akimbo (1991), Based on a True Story by Azz Izz Band (2002), and Advances by Kinch Band (2008).
Chuck's first solo release, Late Bloom (2013) is an album of original songs and arrangements, featuring his vocal and trumpet talents, as well as his unique writing and arranging style. "Late Bloom" has been described as “musically magnificent!” It is available on iTunes and CD Baby.
Chuck has also performed with The Temptations (2002) and guitar great George Benson (2003).
Chuck obtained his Bachelor's in music performance from Northern Arizona University in 1985 and his Masters in Music performance from Youngstown State University in 1987. Along the way, he studied from such highly esteemed trumpet greats as Esotto Pelligrini, Charlie Way and David Hickman.
Chuck has always been well received as a performer. He toured throughout Arizona extensively as a member of several musical groups, including: Limbs Akimbo (1989-1993), Azz Izz Band (1998-2007) and Bad Sneakers (2008-2009) He also toured with Limbs Akimbo in Thailand in the early 90s. This gained him international notoriety as a performer, trumpet player and singer. As a result, Curry formed a band in Thailand which he fronted as singer/trumpet soloist from 1993 through 1997.
Lately, he has been performing on Princess Cruise Lines since 2009 both as a singer and trumpet player. He currently has his own cruise ship show which is being performed with rave reviews.
Along with being a successful professional musician, "Mr. Curry" is also an accomplished music educator and is a former Scottsdale Unified School District Arts in Education Teacher of the Year in 2009.
