At 3 years old, Chuck began his journey into the field of music as a little drummer boy. By the time Chuck was 5 years of age, he was playing the drums for the church he grew up in. "I was totally fascinated with drums when I was a little fella," says Chuck. "When I first played in church, the drumsticks looked like flag poles in my hands 'cause I was so small...but I had it going on!" By the time he was 8 he began playing the base and was playing full time in the church.
Chuck loves the musical sounds of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Sam Cook and Prince. Mystro’s lyrics would be described as the unspoken words of one’s heart. In comparison to Ray Charles and his other influences Mystro has been blessed with a gift of making that smooth crossover transition into other genres of music.
Things in Chuck's life was good until shortly after he reached the age of 15. As Chuck says "I made a terrible mistake and it cost me 23 years of my freedom. In those 23 years, Chuck didn't waste his life away. He pursued music and committed his life to saving youth and helping others.
Chuck was finally released July 1, 2011 and he has continued in the music and is leading worship for Woodmen Valley Chapel and various places in Colorado Springs, CO. Chuck's heart is to give back.
