Cinemascape

Biography

Cinemascape was formed in October 2005. Already at the beginning of the following year we started performing live at various venues.
Image and style have been very important to us from the start; we have always strongly believed in combining exciting music with visual inventiveness. Fashion, art, cinema and literature are vital sources of inspiration.

Musically we are influenced by such different genres as synth, cabaret, glamrock and avant garde. Although we arguably sound very synthpop at most times, we do not want to limit our musical (or visual) expression to that fairly narrow category. We take pride in being hard to label!
Since normativity, traditional gender roles and political correctness are boring and uncreative, we like to play with and to challenge what is considered proper and authentic. Irony is essential to the world of Cinemascape. All this is reflected in our lyrics, as well as in our imagery.
