Clint Perry & The Boo Hoo Crew

What happens when a creative stay-at-home dad of three boys needs an outlet? He forms a kids band! What else would he do? Clint Perry & The Boo Hoo Crew was formed in the winter of 2011 after I had self published a kids book called “Pack Rat Pat, Don’t Take That.” I went to a few local libraries and read it to the kids but ended up playing a few kids songs to go along with it. One thing led to another, and without me really realizing it the next thing you know I’m fronting a band of parents playing original kids tunes, “Clint Perry & The Boo Hoo Crew.” Things quickly picked up from there. We’ve done, at least 80 shows in San Diego County since we formed in the late spring of last year, including Clairemont Family Days, Quail Botanical Gardens Family Fun Nights, The San Diego County Library’s Annual Book Festival, The New San Diego Children’s Museum’s New Year’s Bash and a lot more….and more to come. Now we are starting to book shows outside of San Diego County and are excited about taking our uniquie style to a wider audience.

Come watch us perform songs like “Piñata, Piñata”, “Potty in the Pot!” and “AEIOU” and you’ll see why we seem to get categorized as a Kids “Rock” Band. Yeah, some of our music is silly, like “Pirate Booty” and some is folksy like “Kids” but the feedback we normally get is we are a high energy, too much fun, Kid’s “Rock” Band. Our shows are extremely interactive with lots of audience participation. We’ll have you and your kids picking animals out of a “barn”, doing the “pirate jig”, screaming “aeiou” at the top of your lungs and more. But in all that fun we do teach great lessons, with socially responsible songs like “Your Shadow, My Shadow” and “Reduce and Reuse. We invigorate imagination with songs like “I’m a Robot”, “The Riddle Song” or “Teddy Bear March”. We educate with songs like “AEIOU”, “School”, “Safety Train” and more, but we figure, if you’re gonna do it, why not ROCK IT! We don’t sit down and you won’t either!
