Coca grew up in the remote coastal villages of Esmeraldas. A region of Ecuador known for its strong Afro-Ecuadorian culture & musical heritage. She now lives in Scotland and returned to Ecuador this year to record her debut album "Todo Transito", with musicians based in the Andes of Ecuador. Todo Transito was recorded at a number of studios in Quito and Cayambe and mixed and mastered at Watercolour music studio, Scotland.
Todo Transito is a selection of 10 songs written and composed by Coca Tenorio and arranged by Jaime Velásquez. The album has elements of jazz with traditional Andean and Afro-latino rhythms.
Coca has been guest musician on BBC Radio Scotland's - Global Gathering and Highland Cafe programmes and is currently playing at small gigs in Scotland.
Beyond the mic, Coca is a fashion designer in her own right and continues to develop her clothes label - Coca Couture.
