Col Carter

Biography

Col was born the son of a drover spending his childhood on the stockroutes of Northwest NSW & Southern QLD. His father was also a singer & saxaphone player in big bands. Col was bitten by the performing bug at 8 years old when he sang "Pub With No Beer" at one of his Dads parties & got paid by the party goers. Col started his professional career when he was 18 years old in Moree playing guitar & singing in a Rock & Roll band. He moved to Sydney and formed the legendary band called "Rahzoo" which was extremely successful playing at pubs & clubs across Australia up to 5 days a week, mainly Rock & Country Rock for 14 years. The band also backed and supported many well known artists. Rahzoo released a single which had airplay on major stations in Sydney. He took a break in 1987 to concentrate on his business & family. He gradually got back into the music industry donating his talents to Charity Shows in 2003. Col recorded a demo CD in 2005 which has had a lot of airplay on community stations which led him to record this latest album "Long Way Home" at Red Lantana Studios with his mate Al Morgan (son of the well known Chad Morgan & one of the best lead guitarists around). Currently when Col is not doing solo work his band "Col Carter plus The Firm" have been wowing audiences at various pub venues with their vast repertoire appealing to all ages.
