Colin McKay’s style of Jazz-Folk has been described as funky, eclectic and full of fun-time frivolity. The free spiritedness of Willie Nelson, the adventurism of Ry Cooder, and the minstrel-esque qualities of Ronnie Lane all come together on Colin’s, A Romp Down The Avenue. The first track “Blind Faith”, features a driving rhythm with contemplative musings. Romp also includes a sweet yet thoroughly engaging re-working of, “I’m a Hog For You, Baby.”
Colin has been putting his musical talents and passion to use in performing groups throughout the years, most notably as the leader of The Wandering Bards. Colin is also a beloved music teacher whose purpose is keeping the roots and joy of music alive within the next generation.
In live performances, Colin sings and plays the acoustic guitar, mandolin and ukulele. His wife, Jessica plays electric bass guitar and supplies harmony vocals. Based in New Jersey, they have performed at The Dragonfly Cafe, Crossroads, Roxy and Dukes Roadhouse, and for many private engagements.
