Colleen grew up in Chinook, Montana. Her parents, Walt and Elaine Campbell, had a country western band. Her dad played lead guitar, her mom played bass, and together their vocals created magical harmonies. Her mother reports that Colleen carried a tune before she spoke her first words.
Colleen moved to New York City in 1991 with a degree in theatre. She eventually joined a band, called Sweetgrass, where she sang and wrote songs. When the band recorded a CD with their original music, it was mixed and mastered by, the legendary sound engineer, Jay Messina. It was love at first sight when Colleen and Jay met in the studio. The band disbanded shortly after the CD release party, and Colleen is deeply grateful that this recording project brought Jay into her life. Colleen and Jay were married in July 2008.
Colleen enjoys writing inspirational songs about personal transformation. Self discovery has always been her passion. Her most recent songs are inspired by her friends Ariel & Shya Kane, the award-winning authors and internationally acclaimed seminar leaders. They are expert guides who, with great skill and humor, bring people through the swamp of the mind into the clarity and brilliance of the moment.
As Colleen discovers the magic of living her life in the moment, she experiences what it feels like to have well-being in her life with consistency. One of the many ways she likes to share this experience is through her songs.
