A pop-rock band from the suburbs of California, Colorfair is spearheaded by the mellifluous duo Ryan & Lily Jones. With fun and smiles in mind, the two banded together one summer ago to create thoughtful melodies and imaginative child-like stories within the tapestry of their music. Along the way they made friends with similar tastes and talents that have brought their own sound to the tunes.
The groups first shared tale together, "Leviathan," is a blatant show of their affections towards the sea, adventure, fun and catchy melodies. The album directs the listener to an abstract telling of a girl who encounters a sea-creature off of a distant coast, a story that is interwoven throughout with various segues at sea. The entire concept of the art and theme was based on a illustrated-book idea conjured during the bands formation, and it is their hope to complete a full illustrated book sometime in the future.
With the journey as the focus and the singalong geared melodies as the craft to get it there, this band & record will take you out to sea and leave you nothing short of breathless.
"Colorfair's ‘Leviathan’ is an honest, and thought provoking release that whimsically guides the listener through a colorful, friendly, and inviting soundscape. Uplifting hooks, memorable guitar licks and an attention to detail are all pieces to the puzzle that is Colorfair. Plenty of rock, beautiful oceanic segues, and a strong dose of grace puts this record on the map." – Alexander Sprungle
“Of all the music projects I have encountered in recent years, there are none that I have enjoyed as much as Colorfair. From the first note of ‘Seafarer’ (track 1) through the last wave crashing in ‘Safe Haven’ (track 10), you are taken away on a journey of emotions ranging from ‘joyous freedom’ to ‘heartfelt angst.’ Colorfair’s Leviathan is this year’s must-have album…” – Jordan White
“Colorfair’s newest album, ‘Leviathan,’ reveals the versatility of the duo as gifted singers, songwriters, and musicians.” – Jeremy Kelderman
“…When ‘Leviathan’ drops, go and get it. Your ears will thank me!” – Justin Smith Williams
