Corinne Marcus

Biography

Corinne Marcus’s singing recalls a blend of Flora Purim, Joni Mitchell & Susan Vega. Her songs are catchy and intriguing with hints of Lilith, pop, rock and lounge. In the late 90’s Marcus recorded Dark Eyes with her first band “Cozy”. She also played percussion and sang vocals on three CDs released by “The Flying Other Brothers” and performed at festivals or venues including High Sierra Music Festival, Marin Music Festival, Islands Folk Festival in Vancouver, Great American Music Hall, Slims, The Fillmore, Sweetwater, and several Democratic fundraisers including for Al Gore. After releasing her first solo album Acrobat in 2008, Marcus formed Corinne Marcus & the Kindred Spirits with Mark Jeffery on guitar (Mojophonic, Mobile Home Boys, Tom Bringham), Dennis Harper on bass (The Bundy Browne Band, Mojophonic) and Larry Marcus on drums (The Flying Other Brothers, Wayward Monks, Key Lime Pie). Corinne Marcus & the Kindred Spirits are based and perform in the San Francisco Bay Area.
