Cyrus has been based in London for over 18 years working as a ballet accompanist. He started work at London Contemporary Dance School in the 1990s where he met Peter Jones, John Sweeney and Juliet Fisher. They were very influential on his musical style and approach to playing for class, and still are to this day.
Since then he has worked for many famous dance companies and schools around the world including New York City Ballet, the Merce Cunningham Institute, the Martha Graham School, The Limone Institute and the Royal Ballet School.
In New York he had the privilege to work with Pearl Lang, David Howard, Mark Morris and Jim May.
He currently accompanies silent film at the BFI Southbank and plays at the English National Ballet Company, The Royal Ballet School and the English National Ballet School. He also plays for children’s ballet at The West London School of Dance.
