I grew up listening to, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Quincy Jones, Youceff Latiff, Jr. Walker, Wes Montgomery and Ramsey Lewis to name a few.
As a young boy age 9, I took up playing the guitar and I played this for 2 years until I discovered a beautiful instrument called the Saxophone.
At age 14, I remember taking 1st place in the classical music state soloist ensemble and 2nd place in a sax quartet. By the time I was 16 I had played my first pro gig and had a later opportunity to play on stage with Freddy Hubbard in Wisconsin.
At age 17, I auditioned for Julliard – woo hoo! In my 20’s, I met Branford Marsalis & Frank McComb. They were playing with Brandfords’ band Buckshot LeFunk. It was here I heard how to combine jazz, funk and Hip Hop. I fell in love with this style.
Today, continuing my passion for doing my own thing, I now combine the sounds of Smooth Jazz, Rhythmic Jazz, Classical, R&B mixed with Hip Hop Beats. In my hope to continue to honor God with my music as well as my family and fellow musicians around the world with music that is positive and tasteful. Through his love, grace, patients and teaching me how to be humble, I have received the greatest blessings of all.
