Dale Brown

Biography

Dale Brown performs a mixed bag of orginal tunes, ranging from sanctified blues to toe-tapping southern gospel. A funky blend of acoustic guitars, bluesy vocals and harmonica mixed with electric bass, unusual percussion toys and an occasional banjo. Many of the instrumentals have been used as background sound on numerous television shows. All have been recorded and mixed at The Apologia Mixer a professional Adobe digital multitrack recording studio.

Dale grew up in eastern Washington then later ended up in Alaska by way of the Air Force where he developed a market for his art. He also paints and does sculpture in soft stone such as soapstone and alabaster. He worked as an engraver for a jade cutter and scrimshaw on ivory became a popular expression for him as well. Him and his wife owned several sailing yachts that they lived aboard for a few years sailing and exploring the waters between Seattle and Alaska. Some of the lyrics of his songs reflect those experiences.

He is known for doing a live routine looping guitar, bass, banjo and harmonica parts at many of the wineries and public events in Washington. On occasion you will find him speaking at church functions and helping with the music. He has done a bit of missionary work in England, Haiti, Alaska, Hawaii and around the U.S. His book "YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN: Devilish or Divine" tells some of his tale. He has received some criticism for the song Mahound Dog from the CD Beware of Dogs because of his critical view of Islam. You can find him on Youtube at Apologiamixer.
