My name is Damian Giglio and I am a singer/songwriter from Dallas TX. Glad to say that my first release as a solo artist "Have you Heard" was a huge success! My song "The One" found it's way onto Mtv's top rated program "The Hills." The next year I was chosen by the GAP clothing company to be a part of their "40 Years of Jeans and Music" anniversary celebration. I am currently promoting my new EP entitled "Why not Dream." My music is currently for sale at over 20 online retailers including Itunes.
Here is a little about my story... I had never performed or sang before putting a band together for my high school talent show. Once in college, I knew that if I was going to grow as a musician, I needed to branch out and get to a major metropolitan area. I ended up moving to Dallas, Texas to attend the University of North Texas and further my music career. I then auditioned for a band called Farmer Brown. We immediately got in the studio and recorded our CD "Asking for a Lie." We quickly become a headlining act around the Dallas area and were selected by VH1 to be the only unsigned band to play at the Blockbuster Rockfest Festival. Our band was introduced by the Vice President of VH1 and even got to be on Entertainment Tonight. It was such a memorable day as an estimated 400,000 fans attended the all day show. The line-up consisted of bands like No Doubt, Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, Jewel and so on.
The next band I was a part of was called Plasma Jack. We played shows all over Texas and Oklahoma and shared the stage with great artists such as Blue October, Ryan Cabrera, Jackopierce, Bowling for Soup, Flickerstick, Graham Colton, Deep Blue Something, and so on. Shortly after Plasma Jack split up, I ended up moving back to Beaumont, a place I hadn't lived in almost 8 years. Now that I was back in the bedroom I grew up in, I began what would be the most creative period in my life. My friend Taylor Tatsch had just got off the road with Ryan Cabrera when I got a call from him. He said, "lets start recording your album!" Once the album was done I began supporting and marketing it on my own. The recording wound up in the hands of a music supervisor for MTV's #1 rated show The Hills. They chose my song "The One" for their third season which earned me my first royatly check!
I spent the next few years playing the DFW scene and saving for another recording. I couldn't think of a better way to start of 2012 than by putting out some new music for my fans. My new EP, Why not Dream picks up where the first record left off. My wish is that the fans see some growth and find a connection with these songs. If the fans support me the way they did on the first release it's guaranteed to be a hit!
