Danny Castillo, classically-trained baritenor and songwriting enthusiast, is a music performance (vocal emphasis) major at Texas A&M University Kingsville. Danny has performed with the TAMUK Opera Workshop, the TAMUK Concert Choir, the TAMUK Chamber Singers, Sparkling City Light Opera, the Laredo Philharmonic Chorale, and the TAMIU Singers. Daniel was recently cast as Enjolras in Les Miserables at the Harbor Playhouse in Corpus Christi. Danny has also played Papageno in "The Magic Flute", The Learned Judge in "Trial By Jury", King Melchior in "Amahl & The Night Visitors", and Simone in "Gianni Schicchi". Danny served as the historian for the TAMUK Concert Choir in 2012 - 2013, and now serves as the Committee Chair of Public Relations & Recruitment. Danny won 2nd place in the senior men division at the South Texas NATS Vocal Competition, and was titled "Outstanding Baritone" by the TAMUK Concert Choir in 2012. In 2013, he was titled "Outstanding Senior" and "Member of the Spring Semester" by the TAMUK Concert Choir. Danny studies under the direction of Dr. Melinda Brou.
Aside from Danny's classical endeavors, he also writes songs and puts them together in GarageBand as a hobby.
