Danny Houlihan is a native of Ballybunion County Kerry Ireland. Danny learned the tin whistle and bagpipes from the famous Jimmy Fitzgearld of Ballybunion. In the 1980s Danny was the Pipe Major of the Ballybunion Pipe Band and was a member of St Johns pipe band Tralee where he completed his colledge of piping grades.
In years between 1995 & 2002 he won eight All Ireland Medals. A keen musician, Environmentalist, and music composer Danny has recorded three albums to date King of The Pipers which received National Irish Radio air play,Cosmic Flow the live album and Dance Floor Piper. All stand testement to Danny,s musical ability, Danny is also the sound and lighting operator for the Tintean Theatre Ballybunion where he is a volunteer.
During the winter months Danny visits the local schools as a historian and founder of the Ballybunion Heritage Museum, he has befriended many in the music industry such as North Kerry,s composer Patrick Donegan who has worked closely with Danny on his music career.
When not composing Danny likes to walk along the beach in Ballybunion and enjoy the nature around him.
