Considered one of the most sought after background vocalists in the New York metropolitan area, Danny Presz is now embarking on a solo career. Passionate about salsa rhythms and beats, he brings a new and unique style to the prevailing commercial arrangements of Salsa heard on the airwaves, combining classical romantic and swing touches that appeal to young and old alike.
Danny Presz was born in Paterson, New Jersey and graduated from the Rosa Parks HS for the Fine and Performing Arts. He later received a degree in music education from Caldwell College. Growing up in a Puerto Rican household, he was introduced to Salsa by his older brother at a young age. It so happened that Danny’s older brother became friendly with legendary Salsa singer Frankie Ruiz and his older brother Junito Ruiz (also a singer), both of whom also resided in Paterson. The influence of the Ruiz brothers was to become the force and the inspiration behind Danny’s passion for Salsa. Danny performed in both high school and college, gradually using both his vocal and instrumental skills with professional bands in the New York metro area.
In his short musical career, Danny Presz has performed as a background vocalist around the world with such Salsa artists as Jerry Rivera, Frankie Negron, Jose Alberto “El Canario,” Charlie Cruz, and Johnny Ray “Salsa con Clase.”
In addition, he has sung with Los Hermanos Moreno, Ismael Miranda, Oscar D’Leon, Cano Estremera, Anthony Cruz, Primi Cruz, Tito Rodriguez Jr., Huey Dunbar, Rey Ruiz, Justo Betancourt, Raulin Rosendo, Hector Tricoche, Tito Gomez, Tito Allen, Roberto Lugo, Herman Olivera, Pupy “Cantor” Torres, Joe Arroyo, Juicy and Eric, Eddie Montalvo & Friends, and many more.
In 2006, Danny Presz was given the opportunity to participate in a Salsa project with Nelson Moreno & Los Hermanos Moreno. In the Salsa production entitled “Como Se Menea,” under the direction of famed Colombian producer/trombonist Alberto Barros, Danny sang lead vocals on three tracks. He also recorded on David Cedeño’s most recent Salsa disc, “Un Nuevo Regreso - A New Return,” which hit the airwaves in 2005. He has also participated in other recordings as background vocalist.
Danny holds an MA degree from New Jersey City University (NJCU) and has pursued post graduate study in classical music, especially symphony and opera.
Now, Danny Presz embarks on a solo recording career with a blazing hot Salsa single (Que Necesito Verla) that will please both dancers and listeners alike.
