“…Dave Biller, a Texas guitar slinger with a reputation as large as his home state.”
-New Yorker, 10/14/02 & 10/21/02
“I might as well admit it, the subject of this month’s spotlight plays guitar like I wish I could.
Ever since I saw him backing Dale Watson, I’ve been knocked out by this
Austin-Tatious telecasterist who effortlessly blends country, western swing, jazz, blues and rock
for a killer country jazz sound. He is an amazingly inventive player, adept at creating the perfect accompaniment, yet he can rip off a mind blowingly cool (and tricky) solo. And he does all this with
such a genuinely humble, low-key attitude, I’m not even sure he knows how good he is.”
-Jim Hilmar, Vintage Guitar Magazine, February 1999
“Austin's Dave Biller, a veteran of Wayne Hancock's band and Biller and Wakefield, is also
perhaps the finest exponent of authentic Django Reinhardt style jazz guitar playing in
The United States.”
-Matt Munisteri, well-known New York jazz guitarist, October 2002
“…to the phenomenal Dave Biller (sounding like Jimmy Bryant one minute, Roy Nichols the next.)
-Dan Forte, Guitar Player Magazine, June 1997
