David D. Richardson, M.D.
Dr. Richardson received his Medical Doctorate from Harvard Medical School following which he returned to his home state of California for training at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. He completed his specialty training at the USC/Doheny Eye Institute (one of the top ophthalmology residencies in the country). He is the recipient of the Harvard National Scholarship, Phi Beta Kappa Graduate Scholarship, as well as dozens of others awards too numerous to list here.
Even as a resident physician, Dr. Richardson had gained a notable reputation - he was immediately offered a full time teaching position at USC/Doheny. He declined in order to open his private practice in San Gabriel. Having now practiced for over 10 years, he has performed thousands of cataract surgeries using the most advanced techniques with outstanding results. He is also the author of a book titled, So, You Have A Cataract?
Dr. Richardson is currently the Medical Director of the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates, Inc. SGVEye was founded on the principle that high-quality care requires state-of-the-art tools as well as skilled physicians - Dr. Richardson's father (a mechanic) taught him this valuable lesson). Patients have access to the very latest diagnostic equipment: including High Definition-Ocular Coherence Tomography (for evaluation of glaucoma and macular degeneration), non-contact Specular Microscopy (for evaluation of corneal diseases), as well as the Intra-Ocular Lens Master Optical Biometer (allowing for unparalleled cataract surgery accuracy). Many of these tests are typically only accessible through research institutions such as the Doheny Eye Institute (USC) or the Jules Stein Eye Institute (UCLA). As of the publication date of this CD, SGVEye has the most technologically advanced ophthalmology practice in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley.
