David Stahl has worked as a concert pianist, jazz pianist, party pianist, church pianist, cabaret accompanist, vocal director and coach, and has taught piano, music theory, and electronic music. He presently teaches in the music department of Los Angeles City College. His wide range of experience is reflected in the wide variety of his music. Earning BM and MFA degrees in piano performance at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and UCLA respectively with Eugene Mancini, David Bar-Illan, Bela Siki, and Aube Tzerko has given him a solid technique and firm grasp of the Classical repertoire. He played piano and Fender-Rhodes keyboard in a rock band in high school when he also began writing songs. In numerous gigs over the years he has played the repertoire of the great American Songbook as a solo pianist or in small combos. After having coached many singers in musical theater productions and voice classes at Community College, he himself has been singing on songs he has written as well as the popular standards, often collaborating with his beautiful singing wife Lynnette Lesko.
