Their debut cd, Turning Point, features Wright's “electric guitar as the musical centerpiece” with Leachman's “wonderfully smokey-voice on top”. The common theme is strong instrumentation and the “live” feel of the performance. “It is the combination of Kim's impressive command of that indefinable voice that goes from gospel, to soul, to jazz and to rock in a seconds notice, and the dexterity of Steve's guitar playing. Who knew such sounds, textures, and imagination could come from just six strings. Daysahead is all about chemistry; that often times elusive element that makes everything come together.” RockWiredIn 2003, Atlanta, GA-based Daysahead was born out of a partnership between Steve and Kim. While performing as electric guitarist and background singer, respectively, for Aezra Records recording artist Crea, Steve approached Kim to co-write and demo a few of his songs. After one writing session together the duo knew they were on to something special. “You Move Me” was their first collaboration. Steve called up a few musician friends, and the group immediately began recording Turning Point. Daysahead has an edgy soulful sound with a jazz-rock fusion, coined as Jazz-n-Roll. Since its release, Turning Point has received critical acclaim, and Daysahead has attracted diverse and loyal fans from all over the world to their music.“Daysahead makes their mark on the scene, with an album that's soulful and revives the spirit of the golden era of the 70's & 80's....a sound that's both contemporary & timeless with an air-tight band and bewitching front woman.” RhythmFlow“The opening track, 'You Move Me', explodes with raw detailed vigor and style you rarely hear in music these days.” Contemporary JazzContributing musicians on Turning Point are bassists Myron Carroll, Jeff Smith, Aaron Clay and drummers James Barrett and Joe Lee.
