Growing up in a talented musical family that played Dixieland to Gospel started a little girl’s passion for music. At the age of 4, Debbie started singing with her family's ragtime banjo band, "The Hill Family Banjo Band.” Together with her father, mother and brother they performed throughout the Chicagoland area.
Debbie captured the crown of "Miss Chicago" in the "Miss America" scholarship pageant and went on to be the 1st runner-up for "Miss Illinois". She then hosted the nationally syndicated Christian music video show "Solid Rock Video." Debbie was also the "Entertainment Insider" for Chicago's Christian Contemporary radio station WONU/Shine 89.7fm. She was one of the top 15 semi-finalists vocalists in the CCMN International Talent Search.
Her music continues on with her release of her debut self-titled CD "Debbie K." Her music features a rich blend of acoustic pop combined with powerful vocals, moving lyrics and God’s beautiful message of hope. Over the years, Debbie has been invited to sing and share around the state at various festivals, churches, coffeehouses and special events. As a singer or speaker, music and biblical encouragement have been her passion and mission. From worship services, concerts or life-application bible studies her hope is to share God’s life-changing words through her heartfelt lyrics and unique teaching style.
Currently, Debbie also works in the media as a television producer for many of the top national TV shows covering the latest stories and celebrities. She also serves at her local church with worship, special music, the arts and children's ministry. Debbie's greatest treasure is her family. Together with her husband and 3 children they reside in Illinois. As a family, they love summer fun at their cottage, music, chocolate malts and Jesus.
