Deborah Keily Hanson

Deborah Keily Hanson has a diverse musical background; a classically trained pianist, she studied with Adrian Ruiz (USC) and recently Vitaly Margulis (UCLA). Her jazz background includes performing for many years in the Ocho Rios International Jazz Festival in Jamaica. Deborah received her teaching credential from Chapman University and in 1992 was Teacher Of The Year. In 1993 she founded “Kids on Stage”, a children's performance program for funding arts in education, culminating in the 2001 BRAVO Award. After 911, she produced a CD of her students, raising funds for children in New York. Recently, Deborah performed with Argentine pianist Mario Roque in fund raising concerts for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Her philanthropic efforts, commitment to children, and unquenchable passion for music continue to this day. In 2011, Deborah began composing, and won First Prize in the California Composers Today State Contest.
