Demetrius West and Reflections of God Chorale

Demetrius West began his gospel music career at 4 years of age. His main inspiration was the directing ability of his great-grandmother, Carolyn Bryant. Having been born and raised in church, Demetrius made an important decision to give his life to Christ at 8 years old, while attending the Pathway Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member, directed and sang in the church choir. He later joined the congregation of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Chruch, also directing and singing in the youth choir and mass choir. With his mother being a member of the Rodnie Bryant Concert Choir (better known as the Christian Community Mass Choir), Demetrius had many opportunities to learn about music. It was no suprise that he would develop his euphonious talents with speed. Demetrius was as dedicated as any other choir member, attending most CCMC rehearsals and engagements. Rodnie nurtured Demetrius and was the first to demonstrate his talent in a local performance, allowing Demetrius to take control of CCMC, where he awed those in attendance with his gifts. During his high school years, he directed the Arlington High School Gospel Choir for the Indianapolis Public School System under the direction of Ms. Twana Harris. With his support this choir was able to complete a project in 2002, in which Demetrius composed several songs that were recorded. He was also a part of the Y-Zone Gospel Choir as assistant director. Demetrius has also directed and administered workshops at many churches (local and national), as well as other community functions, and shared the stage with many national recording artist. As a result of his strong spiritual roots, Demetrius was chosen to begin a ministry of his own; thus, the Reflections of God Chorale was born August 2001. Within 3 years, Demetrius has led them to record their first album, "Conversation In His Presence!"
