Singer-Songwriter, Dena Mwana is an in Internationally-Recognized Christian Voice dedicated to promoting and expressing Personal, Spiritual and Communal belief regarding Christian life through music.

Her captivating personality, wrapped up in a breathtaking frame, has enabled her as an artist and celebrity to attract a remarkably diverse group of fans and undoubtedly placed her as one of the greatest gospel artists of all times.

The Sixth of Eight Children, Dena Mwana was born Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi on Dec 27th in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

At the age of 13, she got her start in performing by singing with the Legendary Choir of Kinshasa “Notre dame de Grâce”; where five years later she emerged as the Choir Director.

Dena Mwana has been Credited by many as having one of today’s unique passionate voices with sound that truly transcends any and all boundaries of race, genre, denomination and societal background. But Perhaps, most importantly, would be her striking tireless drive to excel at everything and anything.
It is no wonder this Diva graduated from Gazelle High School with Honors.

As her Overall Biggest influences and inspiration, she cites God and her Parents both Congolese from Bandundu State in DRC.

Dena is happily married to her long time manager and God has blessed the couple with two beautiful Children.
Dena Mwana came to prominence in 1996 when Legendary Congolese Music Composer, Souzy Kaseya wrote a Patriotic Song to be sang by a huge selection of High School Students from all over Kinshasa.
The presence of Dena's unique voice coupled with stylistic diversity was immediate and caught the eye of all those present in the recording studio, alienating every other voice .

Endless opportunities for the Diva continued to grow from then on. In 2003, Rigobert Mbila, Legendary Music Professor (“Notre Dame de grace Choir")” further pioneered the Diva by suggesting she start her own musical group.
In 2004, ACAPPELA MUSICAL GROUP was created and very quickly became the most sought after Gospel Group in Kinshasa. The mission behind ACAPPELA MUSICAL GROUP was to demonstrate the Greatness of God that Governs Respect for Women, Work and Marriage; thereby redefining the end-less possibilites available through Christ Jesus.

In 2006, Dena immigrated to the United States of America in pursuit of furthering her career, leaving her Husband in Kinshasa DR Congo to manage the group "Acappela Musical Group" and her huge fan base.
She settled in the State of Virginia to capitalize on the popularity of her albums; making friends with many local churches along the way.

This presented an opportunity for her to participate in Christian Festivals and Concerts.

By 2007, Dena Mwana had already reached the status of Professional Musical Standards. As the Market continued to fuel with soaring offers from the Four Corners of the Earth, Dena Mwana found herself flying across the Globe again and back into Kinshasa, Congo (DRC) to participate in Several Musical Festivals including the ”Coeur d’Afrique” and other Concerts organized by a stream of Telecommunication Companies.
This was also a great opportunity to reunite with her musical group "Acappela Musical Group".

In 2009, inconjunction with Acappela Musical Group, Dena Mwana started recording the album entitled “Hosanna” which was later finalized upon her return to Virginia in 2010.

"Hosanna" Album was Released in May 2011 and proved to be a total success, selling out within the first 2 days.
