Dengue Dengue Dengue! is an audiovisual duo born in mid-2010 in Lima, Peru and is conformed by Felipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira, who were already working together on other projects, both as part of the Peruvian based ‘Colectivo Auxiliar’.
The name Dengue Dengue Dengue! comes from a Enrique Lynch’s vinyl, who played a rhythm called "Dengue". The project catched from the start and made themselves well known thanks to an impeccable audiovisual show, half dj set and half live, remixing and making mash-ups from their own tracks with old cumbias and modifying cumbia cult themes to electronic versions. All this always joined by amazing visuals and the always present masks.
In early 2011 they began to publish their first productions, being bloggued in major and specialized music portals, in countries like Mexico, USA, France and England among others. They begun to sound harder everytime, playing in major events and festivals, sharing the stage with international artists such as Mad Professor, Bomba Stereo, Manu Chao and Calle 13, and also having the honor of playing with legendary Peruvian cumbia groups such as The Shapis and Los Destellos.
Along with the Colectivo Auxiliar, the start producing the TOMA! parties, helping to consolidate the growing and vibrant fusion Tropical movement in Lima, Peru, inviting musicians and DJs from different places to share sounds and experiences.
2012 is still a spectacular year with many surprises, having been invited to participate at one of the greatests festivals of contemporary culture in the world: NOVA in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and now preparing for their first tour, the time finally comes to introduce their first official production, the album titled: “La Alianza Profana” (or "The Unholy Alliance"), an album of original productions with many unreleased tracks and some others that will be finally available to the public. And all this goes hand in hand with the music video "Simiolo", the first single from this new and exciting album.
