Self producer/songwriter/guitar /didjeridoo/sitar
Being brought up and working on the family farm in Victoria Australia for the first 20 years, and playing guitar in the local band Blackrock, Simon decided to hit the road around Australia and ended up years later in New york city.
With such a creative music scene, he was inspired, and while working in varied media including, theatre, soundtracks, performance art and local bands, formed his own band Boomerang which played many of the great gigs around the city playing guitar.
A new adventure was looming so he decided to head to London, where he met producer/musicians, Van Vardoen and Rob Casserly at a gig and started writing and recording projects.
After a time back in OZ, he discovered the didjeridoo and which led to the wonderful path of world music, that eventually led back to the cross-cultural ambience of New York city.
Starting his own label NATUREBEAT MUSIC, and band DIDJWORKS, he recorded his first albums "New York dreaming" "Grand central live", and the first GLOBALNOMAD album, now called "Oxygen".
He is also a member of the band MECCA BODEGA, which have toured the US and performed at many festivals and live venues, while recording 3 albums with them, including the soundtrack to the film SUBWAYS STORIES.
After looking for a new musical direction, Simon discovered the sounds of Trip-hop, and hooked up with Van and Robin London, and with thanks to the world of sampling and technology, recorded 3 Didjworks albums "Citizen of the world" "Collective Unconscious" and "Tranceformation" over the coming years, while living and working in the US.
After spending years between the US and OZ, he decided to live permanently in Byron bay and finish his enviro free-range rock album "Enviromentality" by band GLOBALNOMAD.
During the times traveling India he picked up the SITAR and has been playing it regularly for the last 10 years, It can be heard on many of the Didjworks recordings, recently he has been playing the SITAR and DIDJERIDOO together which creates a unique world of sound all it's own, and is exploring new ways and places to perform this combination. Simon has performed over 1,000 shows from busking, venues, festivals, to theatres in NYC the UK…and Australia
