Dons love of country music along with his big velvety vocals have ensured him a place amongst the best in the business. Many times it has been said " He is a singer's singer". Listen to the voice and feel the goose bumps appear, what else can we say.
He started at the age of eleven years old and now at a young 50-ish, has achieved so much, and yet has so much more to give. He is definately not restricted to just country music either, and is quite capable of belting out rock with gusto. Being New Zealand born and bred, he won various country music awards in NZ and has appeared on numerous television shows to date.
At age 21 he was approached to play Judas in the New Zealand production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the accolades were abundant. He then moved to the United States basing himself in Sacramento, California. While there he proved a huge success in the country music field. Doing two live television appearances and many live shows.
Unfortunately due to Visa problems and also having a very young family at that stage, he decided to move out of the music scene, but had made many valuable contacts which proved their worth in years to follow.
So along with his family, he decided to move to Australia and went straight into his own business while still dabbling in the entertainment business. He then had a chance to record his first full length album entitled: "Let it be me", which was a huge success for him. He was signed by an Arizona recording company named "Comstock Records", who put his record throughout Europe.
It went very well for him and is still getting air play to this day. Because of business commitments he eventually dropped out of music, but is now back with a vengeance.
He has now finished his second album, all original songs, except one track which is a cover song of Prince Tui Teka's song called "For the life of me", which is the title of his new album.
Being very humble in his own makeup he would never tell you just how good he is. So do yourself a favour, take a listen and then realize, this guy has got it all
