Donna Adler

Donna is a singer-songwriter living in Chicago and currently records in Nashville. Her songs and style have been compared to Joni Mitchell or Judy Collins, and she has also drawn comparisons to Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood and Sarah McLachlan. There is a strong folk influence in her music, mostly because she grew up listening to Harry Chapin, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Crosby Still, Nash & Young, Emmylou Harris and Cat Stevens. Many of her performances have been in the Chicago area at the Uncommon Ground, Two Way Street Coffeehouse, Fox Valley Folk Festival, Bill's Blues & Charlie's Coffeehouse. She has released 3 CDs of original material & is currently working on another release at Creative Caffeine Studios in Nashville. She has played guitar in a rock band (The Art Thieves), written songs for Children's Theater, created the soundtrack for a play, but mostly enjoys writing and performing. She has received several songwriter awards and her CD Violets and Blues charted in the top 100 CDs of folk music radio in May 2008. She was also listed as one of the top artists of 2008 in folk radio airplay. She appears in the background of the Robert Alaniz movie "The Vision" singing a song by John Ludwig; Demon of Doubt. Donna has also performed with with Buddy Mondlock, Tom Dundee & Robbie Fulks. Her newest CD will include songs by Mark Dvorak, Tom Dundee, Chris Farrell and Emmylou Harris, as well as originals.
